1. Generate Tracking Link
- Log in to Kochava
- Select the desired Account and App
- Select “Engagements” then “Campaign Manager”
Create/Select a New Campaign
- Click “+Add” under Campaigns or select an existing Campaign
- Enter a Campaign Name
- Enter the Default Destination URL
- Click Add
Create/Select a New Segment
- Select the desired Campaign
- Click “+Add” under Segments or select and existing Segment
- Enter a Segment Name
- Enter a Segment Description (optional)
Create a Tracker
- Select the desired Campaign & Segment
- Click “+Add” under Trackers
- Enter a Tracker Name
- Select “Acquisition” under the Tracker Type dropdown
- Select Universal Ads as your Media Partner
- Note: Make sure the Share with Publisher checkbox stays ticked for troubleshooting purposes.
- Select an Agency Partner (if relevant)
- Select the Destination URL Type
- Enter the Install Destination URL
- Click Save
- Copy your Impression URL tracking, and provide it to your Universal Ads Account Manager
2. Enable Postback events
- Log in to Kochava
- Select the desired “Account and App”
- Select “App Configuration” then “Partner Configuration”
- Click “Add a Configuration”
- Select Universal Ads and click “Save”
- For an Install Event Postback, click “Install” and under “Postback Tools” click the pencil icon to Edit
- For Post-Install Active Events, locate the desired event and click “+” to edit postback
- Enter the Package name of your app for Android or the Bundle ID for iOS
- Select Realtime Delivery for Delivery Delay
- Select 3 Attempts for Retry Attempts
- Select All for Delivery Method
- Click Save
- You can repeat this for in-app event postbacks such as Purchase or Signup events.
3. Add Your Impression Tracker in Universal Ads
With your Kochava impression tracking URL ready, you can now create your App Tracker in Universal Ads.
- Create a Performance+ Campaign
- In the “Objective” section select App Promotion
- At the Ad Set level under the “Tracking” section toggle the App Tracker ON
- Select Create App Tracker
- Select Kochava as your MMP Partner
- Name your tracker and select which platform you’d like to run on, iOS and Android are pre-selected
- Copy & paste your iOS App Store ID and Android Package Name in the respective boxes
- Copy & Paste your impression tracking URL(s) in the respective boxes for each platform type

- Click Finish
- Universal Ads will automatically validate your URLs and App IDs before saving.
- The impression tracking URL will automatically be appended to all creatives under the ad set it’s appended to.
