Genre targeting allows you to run your ads alongside specific content genres using Comcast’s first-party data.
Please Note: Genre targeting and Viewership Behavior targeting represent two different types of targeting capabilities. You should use Genre Targeting to specify which genre (e.g., comedy, drama, horror) you would like your ads to appear next to, while you would use Viewership Behavior to target audiences based on their indicated behaviors. For example, if you want to target news viewers, but want your ad to appear adjacent to sports content, you would select:
- Viewership Behavior target – News
- Genre target – Sports
Steps:
- Click Create Campaign + and select the Content Select option.
- On the Campaign Settings page, scroll to the Content Goal section, choose Genres, and click Next.
- On the Ad Set Settings page, go to the Placements section. Choose either All Genres or Select Specific Genres to pick the genres you want to target.
- Selecting All Genres allows Universal Ads to optimize your ad across all available genres.
- Selecting Specific Genres limits targeting to only the genres you choose.
